 Important News

  • Following on from the AGM last year, the TICA Executive have progressed the cancellation of TICA. I can now confirm that TICA’s registration with Consumer Affairs has been cancelled.

What next?

You are now a member of the ACIPC. The TICA no longer exists. Your membership with the TICA was due on the 1st March; however you have had your membership with ACIPC extended until the 30th June 2012 at no cost. After this time, you will need to renew your membership with ACIPC. Information on this will be sent out by ACIPC in due course. You should still continue to receive Healthcare Infection and you will now receive direct communication from the ACIPC. Communication is via email (same as TICA). All of TICA membership details have been sent to ACIPC. Therefore, if you change your person details and more importantly your email, contact the ACIPC secretariat ASAP (admin@acipc.org.au) . Contact details are on the AICA website (www.aica.org.au). We will no longer be updating contact details locally.

What is happening in Tasmania now?

As discussed at previous GM and at the AGM, we have requested that a Tasmanian Special Interest Group be established. In the interim, two professional development days are being arranged for early and mid 2012. Details will be sent to TICA members.

Final Word

I would again like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of TICA for their support of this association. I would strongly encourage you to renew your membership with ACIPC in a few months. Benefits to members are set to increase, with wider opportunity in a range of areas anticipated. Just because we are now a national body, it does not preclude you from being involved; quite the opposite. I would encourage you to take the opportunity to get involved with ACIPC, it is your organisation. Many opportunities to be involved are likely.

Finally, I would again thank all past and present TICA Executive members for their work in this association. It has gone from strength to strength and as a result it is now possible to move to a truly national united organisation.

Brett Mitchell

President, association formally known as TICA.
